Of the various Seoul Daily Life and Culture Materials and Survey Reports issued by the Seoul Museum of History, areas with unique spatial characteristics that can be appealing to foreigners are selected and published in English. In 2019, we have published the English version of BUKCHON, for which we published a research report in Korean in 2018. Bukchon, one of Seoul's most famous tourist destinations with a number of hanoks, is not only a beautiful village, but also served as the country’s political, economic and social hub for centuries. For more information on Bukchon, please ask for the English version of BUKCHON at National Museum Shop located on the first floor, or at Seoul Bookstore in City Hall. Also, be sure to come and enjoy the exhibition “The Memories of Eleven Families in Bukchon,” held until Sunday, October 6, 2019. Please note that we have also published English versions for other popular areas in Seoul, including Garibong-dong, Changsin-dong, Namdaemun Market, Seongsu-dong, Myeong-dong, and Sinchon.
